This device was made for an aerospace prototyping and pattern making shop in Bloomfield, CT. The company made its own lightweight metal alloys, casting them into complex shapes. Their customers were primarily engineers working within defense contracting corporations, hence an anonymous, typographic solution that would easily stamp, etch or cast into a part, if necessary. Applications for their work included radar microwave guides and satellite components. The shop also made patterns, forms and tools for injection molding, investment casting and sheetmetal bending.
