This mark was done for a physicist who taught at MIT, among other pursuits. He was developing laser-based communication applications for electronic devices, and discovered that optic-switched FTP was a simple, practical way to send fairly complicated instructions and data among and within home monitoring and operations devices. The project morphed into something very different and much bigger, but the original demonstration wall wart was styled like a lump modem and had this brand mark on it.
